Introducing our new Children’s Choir Director

We are so pleased to announce that Mia Beviglia will be joining our Music Ministry in the role of Director of the Children’s Choir.  She is already a familiar face here at St. Mary’s as a cantor and substitute accompanist, and we are thrilled that she will be extending her considerable talent and experience to our children.   

Mia’s early years were filled with music, where, even at a young age she was providing piano accompaniment for her home parish in Moscow, PA., and acting as a substitute accompanist for churches in the Diocese of Scranton.  She graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 2023 where she was involved as a singer, rehearsal accompanist, and student conductor with various musical groups such as the College Choir, the Chamber Singers and the Holy Cross Chapel Choir.  It is fortunate for us that Holy Cross offered Mia a full-time job following graduation, allowing her to remain in the area while continuing to use her musical talents in a variety of ways.  She is passionate about bringing beauty to the liturgy and is excited to begin working with the Children’s Choir starting this fall.  Thank you, Mia, and Welcome!

Rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays from 5:00-6:00 in the church beginning on September 11th.  The children can expect to sing once or  twice a month at the 9:00 Mass.  You can sign your child up by visiting our website.  So, get your kids excited about singing in the choir!  It’s going to be a great year of making music!
