On Wednesday, 18th, March Phil Lemieux, Jen Smith, and Martha Serafin's high school religious education classes were scheduled to cook and serve a meal at the Mustard Seed. Due to the COVID 19 restrictions students were no longer able to gather together to cook the meal.
The students donated all of the food items for the meal except the hams. Gina Kuruvilla reached out to Greg Morelli of the St. Mary Catholic Men's Group to ask if they would be willing to provide hams.
The men's group quickly raised money for hams with a little left over for anything else needed. Men's Group members Jack Collins, Mike Duquette and Greg Morelli worked with Gina to help cook and package about 100 meals into individual take out boxes to reduce contact and spread of COVID-19. As Jack and Gina arrived with the food, there was an orderly line from the Mustard Seed down the length of the block, following social distancing protocol. Mary Buduo's Confirmation class put together individual bags containing snacks, hand soap and other toiletries that were also distributed. This is a great example of how our parish family remains united in love and service during a time we cannot physically be together.
