Light in the Darkness: Catholic Peacemaking in the Holy Land

Jesus’ words “blessed are the peacemakers” are not merely a statement, but an invitation and a challenge. With violence intensifying in the Holy Land this past year, many Catholics have wondered how we can contribute to a just and lasting peace. Key to answering that question is understanding realities on the ground and what role people in the United States can play.

Join the Saint Mary’s community for a “Conversation in the Spirit” led by former parishioner Bob Shine, who visited Palestine and Israel on a Christian peace delegation earlier this year. Bob will share some of what he witnessed and how the Catholic faith informs his active nonviolence practice in solidarity with Palestinians facing violence. In this 90 minute program, there will also be time for prayer, small group conversation, and questions.
