Lent 2025

- Are you Ready for Lent?
  
  Lent is a time of prayer, sacrifice, and renewal. Many Catholics embrace the season by attending daily Mass and receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. To help you on your Lenten journey, we will offer an additional weekday Mass (Monday–Friday) at 6:45 AM, beginning Ash Wednesday, March 5th, through Wednesday of Holy Week. This is in addition to our regular 8:30 AM Mass.
  
  We will also provide an extra opportunity for Reconciliation during Adoration on Tuesday evenings from 7:00–8:00 PM in the church. Reconciliation is also available on Saturday's at 3:30 PM in the church.
  
  Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and Burning of Palms: March 4th at 6:00PM in the Parish Hall. Hosted by our high school students. Enjoy pancakes, sausages & more. Donations will be accepted at the door and go towards our high school summer service trip.
  
  Lenten Soup Suppers: Join us on March 14th, March 21st, March 28th, April 4th and April 11th at 6PM in the Parish Hall for a simple Lenten Supper of soup and bread. Each week will be hosted by a different ministry.
  
  Stations of the Cross: Join us at 7:00PM on March 7th, March 14th, March 21st, March 28th, and April 4th as we pray the Stations of the Cross.

  Annual Lenten Fish Fry - Friday, March 7th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visit our Fish Fry page for more information and to purchase your advance tickets!
  
  Lenten Book Study: Join us on three Thursdays—March 13, 20, and 27—for a Lenten Book Study. The study and discussion will take place in the Large Meeting Room. Books will be provided for a $10 donation. We will be reading and discussing "The Return of the Prodigal Son" by Henri Nouwen. Meeting time options are 11:00 AM or 7:00 PM.   Parish Cluster Lenten Mission with Rev. Jairo Henao from the Archdiocese of Medellín, Colombia. Join us at 7:00 PM on March 24th at St. Anne's, March 25th at St. Mary's, March 26th at St. Mary of the Hills.
  
  Taizé Prayer Service: April 11th at 7:00 PM in St. Mary's church. A choir, built from our cluster churches (St. Mary’s, St. Anne’s, St. Mary of the Hills) will lead us in sung prayer. More Information.
  
  Almsgiving:
  CRS Rice Bowls will be available next weekend for your Lenten almsgiving. Your contributions will be divided among several charitable ministries that our parish supports, including Catholic Relief Services, St. Anne’s Human Services, Dismas House, the Mustard Seed and the Interfaith Hospitality Network.
  
  Service:
  Parish Lenten Service Project: Saturday, March 15, 2025 We will host a meal packaging event with Rise Against Hunger. We will have an assembly line process, pack meals of rice and soy, and lend a hand to people facing hunger across the globe. 10 volunteers are needed from 12:30PM to 4:00 PM. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Volunteers will help us set up by carrying bags of grains and rice from a truck in the parking lot to the parish hall. Volunteers will also refill bins with rice and grains as needed and help load the truck as meals get packaged.
  40 volunteers are needed from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM Volunteers will measure rice and grains for packaging through an assembly line set-up. Heavy lifting is not required. Register to volunteer by clicking the button below.

  During Mass this Lent, we will pray with Psalm 130: "With the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption." This psalm reminds us of God’s unfailing love and abundant mercy, calling us to trust in His forgiveness and embrace His promise of redemption. As we journey through this sacred season, may these words deepen our reflection, strengthen our faith, and draw us closer to the Lord’s grace through the celebration of the Eucharist.
