This program features Erica Ball's charming Woodland Preludes, a set of scenic depictions of the seasons inspired by the New England woods, and Florence Price's dynamic Piano Sonata in E Minor, in which melodic and rhythmic ideas from African-American spirituals and plantation dances are infused into a traditional Romantic era aesthetic. Also included are works by Tania Léon and Matthew Jaskot and performances of solos by jazz piano giants Keith Jarrett, Brad Mehldau, and Oscar Peterson. Oboist Tracy Jaskot will be a featured soloist on Price's Adoration.
