St. Mary's Church Renovation Update

It has been a busy summer at. St. Mary’s since our Church Renovation project began at the end of June. Because of the challenges with construction and renovation projects that we are all facing at this point in time, it was decided to divide the work into two phases. The first is the work that has been taking place this summer which required closing the church for weekend and daily Masses. That work is nearing completion, and we will be able to return to our church for Masses next weekend September 10 & 11. Yes, just in time for our Centennial Mass! Whew!

What will be completed in this first phase:

• New ceramic tile throughout the church New kneeler pads on refinished pews Refurbished sanctuary furniture
• New lighting for hanging lanterns over pews New track lighting for the sanctuary
• Wiring for additional lighting as we await arrival of fixtures Removal of old Baptismal font
• Layout and floor preparation while awaiting new Baptismal font
• Brick walls cleaned and radiator covers painted Removal of air conditioning ducts

The work in the second phase will take place in October and it will include:

• Refinishing oak doors and outdoor canopy at front entrance New lighting fixtures for vestibule and staircases to choir loft
• Additional woodwork installed in the sanctuary
• Renovated Reconciliation room Installation of marble baptismal font

We are also grateful to parishioners from Favulli Electric (Joe Favulli), Egan Church Restoration (Jim Egan), and J.J. Bafaro (Michael Bafaro) and their workers, along with several additional subcontractors.
