At the start of another school year, we want to thank the St. Mary School Parent Association for sponsoring SUNDAY COFFEE after the 9:00 am Mass in our renewed parish hall.
Scenic and Spiritual Soundscapes This program features Erica Ball's charming Woodland Preludes, a set of scenic depictions of the seasons inspired by the New England woods, and Florence Price's dynamic Piano Sonata in E Minor, in which melodic and rhythmic ideas from African-American spirituals and plantation dances are infused into a traditional Romantic era aesthetic. Also included are works by Tania Léon and Matthew Jaskot and performances of solos by jazz piano giants Keith Jarrett, Brad Mehldau, and Oscar Peterson. Oboist Tracy Jaskot will be a featured soloist on Price's Adoration.
Join us! The Blessing of Animals for the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology, will take place on Sunday, October 1 at 2:00 pm. Please bring your pets to St. Mary’s parking lot for a special blessing.
Do you have piano skills you’d like to share? Our children’s choir needs a volunteer accompanist for their rehearsals. They meet on Wednesday, from 4:15 to 5:15. If you play and feel comfortable reading music, they could use your help! Contact Jan Cappello for more information at 508-393-3189 or [email protected]
The adult choir will be singing once again at our 11:00 Mass beginning on 9/24. We are looking for all voice types (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) and welcome all skill levels. Our organist, Matt Jaskot, will be directing us from the bench. We are excited to begin a new chapter under his leadership and learn from his depth of knowledge and experience! This will be a time of rebuilding – so we need your voice! Come discover the joy of praising God through music. For more information, contact Marti Page @ 508-845-6341 x328 or [email protected]
